Football Postgame Press Conference - vs. TCU
- Scott Frost said UCF trusted Keyone Jenkins to throw more in his second start against TCU; Jenkins completed 19 of 20 passes on calls intended to give him clear reads. Frost also flagged two fumbles, including a sneak, as ball-security errors, not a promised future pass rate.
- Frost said UCF's defensive line attacked TCU's wide-zone runs with penetration; a reporter cited TCU at 33 rushing yards on 27 carries, and Frost called run defense the key on that side of the ball. This describes the TCU game plan, not a permanent front change.
- Frost credited Jaden Bellamy with a strip and interception and Antoine Jackson with a late interception against TCU. He also said TCU hit three one-on-one vertical throws and UCF's corners need better eyes on those balls; the takeaways do not mean the deep-ball issue was resolved.
- Frost said UCF put extra emphasis on getting the ball to tight ends Josh Derry, Kaden Piening and Dylan against TCU; Piening scored on third-and-long when a field goal otherwise looked likely. This is a game-specific emphasis, not a future target allocation.
