Optimism v. Pessimism
Summary
QB/DL: CJR’s critique of Raynor post-game on Saturday was pretty eye-opening.
CJR’s critique of Raynor post-game on Saturday was pretty eye-opening. You could be right, although I don’t think we’re close to that stage. On his thoughts of Jaylen Raynor’s play at quarterback: “I felt like he had a couple throws that he’s going to want back, surely. I mean, we ran the ball so well, but we need to be able to pass the ball better than what we did when he was in there. There’s no question about that. Kind of left the ball behind on the pick, and then on one of those throws he threw behind because the (defensive end) was high. Those are the plays I think he needs to make with his feet and get off schedule and just go get whatever they give you. They called the right defense at the right time. Guy was in his face. “But overall, he’s done a really good job of managing the game and getting us in the right situations and making the right decision, and sometimes winning is just eliminating error. If you can run the ball and you can stop people on defense, it’s just a matter of time until somebody else makes errors. We need to eliminate the penalties, though. We had four for 55 today, which cost us, and they were stupid penalties today. So, they’ll hear that message when we return on tomorrow when I get them. But overall, I thought it was solid.”
