No. 16 Louisville (2-1, 1-0) opened ACC play with a win over nationally-ranked SMU at L&N Stadium on Saturday. The win, a second straight for the Cardinals, lifted the team in the latest ESPN Football Power Index. The ESPN Football Power Index has updated following the latest weekend of football and Louisville climbed five spots to No. 23, while Wake Forest sits at No. 54. The FPI Matchup Predictor indicates a Louisville victory, giving the Cardinals an 80.1% chance of winning. The ESPN FPI top five has Ohio State edging out Texas, followed by Georgia, Notre Dame and Indiana to complete the top five. Texas has the highest percentage of winning the national championship at 17.6%. The ESPN FPI has Miami at the top of the ACC, followed by Louisville, Pittsburgh, SMU and Virginia.
