Staff Question: What is preventing (outside Traore/Young) Keon Keely from getting more snaps?
Summary
Pick/market: Just has to play better.
Just has to play better. I think it's as simple as that. Had a very good game against Rice but not so much against Wisconsin and Michigan State.
It's also not a surprise, by the way, that his Notre Dame career is starting slowly. He's playing a different position here than he was playing at Alabama. They had him in a hybrid role where he was often lining up as a five-technique (basically 3-4 DE). At ND, he's a true edge rusher.
That was always gonna take time. The vibe seemed to be that he turned a corner in fall camp, but now it's about adjusting to game action. Would not be surprised if he became a meaningful contributor in October and November.
