In Troy's 2026 Utah State-week presser, Gerad Parker said tight end Fabo would be available but his workload remained uncertain. His exit against Missouri removed some 12- and 13-personnel short-yardage calls, while Jackson Worley's situation also affected tight-end depth. Parker wants other players to step up; he did not confirm unrestricted participation or a replacement starter.

Parker credited Troy's defensive staff with making speeding up Missouri's passer a specific schematic priority during the preceding practice week. He linked that preparation to the defense's third-down success, while better punting and longer fields also helped limit Missouri to three second-half points. This describes the recent defensive plan, not a newly announced package for Utah State.

Parker said health had delayed Howard's Troy season debut until the Missouri trip. His man-coverage win showed the receiving group's explosive potential, but Parker still wants better detail work. This is a return-to-action assessment after that game, not a guaranteed increase in snaps or targets.

Parker said Troy quarterback Goose made the correct throw on the Missouri interception, but the receiver drifted upfield instead of following the coached route. Separately, he wants better protection and stronger ball security when Goose feels pressure, including tighter elbows and tucking the ball. These are execution corrections, not a quarterback change.
