Richmond appears to be down a bit in general, really struggled to beat non-scholarship Georgetown over the weekend. In general, the Patriot League is not as competitive as the CAA, which itself is a shell of the league it was 5-10 years ago. Believe they were also down close to 20 players due to injury in that State game, just never had a chance. Not sure what we can take from that result.
That said, what DOES worry me is that despite the creative way they found to lose on Saturday, State put up over 430 yards of offense on Vandy and had the ball for over 35 minutes. Now, who knows what anyone is at this point, Vandy was not impressive against Delaware or Austin Peay themselves but State moved the ball on them all day.
IMO, it will all come down to whether our OL can hold up. Name of the game will be limiting possessions and keeping this game in the 20's or low 30's for us to have a shot. If they jump on us early, it could be a long night but if we hang around and force them to make plays in the 4th, could see them tightening up after that debacle last week.
