Watch: UNC's Reality Check - IC Daily
Summary
Coaching: Again, I think we're seeing and hearing different things.
Again, I think we're seeing and hearing different things. Which is fine, we have different vantage points.
Most UNC fans I've interacted with were resigned to competing for bowl eligibility, as long as it demonstrated real potential for a big step forward in 2027 against that 2027 schedule.
From my POV, the frustrations come from near-term events, not big picture stuff. Most expected Clemson's offense, bad in games one and two, with a true freshmen at QB, to disintegrate in the face of Belichick's defense and Belichick's in-game adjustments. Instead, we got the opposite. Most expected a Bobby Petrino QB to be light years better than what we saw at the QB spot last season. Instead, we're seeing QB futility.
Expecting better QB play and superior defensive performance against Clemson were not unreasonable expectations. That's where I think the pushback against the, "Well, what did you expect?" comes from.
