Offensive line
Summary
OL: You have evidence that who they put out didn't deliver the results you hoped for.
Not really. You have evidence that who they put out didn't deliver the results you hoped for. There's no control group experience for the same situation to prove that a different combo *at that time* would have done better. Even with the Pickard situation.
We can be upset as fans when Oregon struggles or loses and wish the coaches would have done something different to spare us that bad feeling. But it really is nuts to think that any of us (including the guys with some analytical experience who grind tape) can better judge who is ready to win now on any given Saturday. The coaches not only have unlimited film, and substantially more acumen than 98% of fans, but they also have day to day up close exposure to the players and know more about their mental makeup than anyone else.
And it's easy to say that it's better to suffer some in the short term to hasten the higher-ceiling guys getting better, but would we be OK if that meant, or increased the odds, that we would lose a game like SC?
