The biggest winners, losers in Week 4 247Sports SEC poll, plus how I voted in latest ballot
Summary
Pick/market: Week 3 of the college football season was one to remember—or, for some SEC programs, one they'd rather forget.
Week 3 of the college football season was one to remember—or, for some SEC programs, one they'd rather forget. Ole Miss got an emotional win at home in the inaugural Lane Kiffin Bowl, knocking off LSU in Kiffin's return to Oxford, Mississippi, after bailing on the Rebels amid a College Football Playoff run last season. Kentucky got a signature win under its belt in Year 1 under Will Stein, taking down a top 10 Texas A&M team on the road at Kyle Field. Vanderbilt secured the most improbable win of the week, shocking NC State in the final second on an unlikely defensive touchdown. Florida and Auburn renewed their rivalry, with the Gators walking out of Jordan-Hare Stadium with the win. For others, the weekend was more forgettable. Texas A&M, obviously, was the biggest loser of Week 3 in the SEC. Things are looking dire for South Carolina and Arkansas already. Then there's Oklahoma, which trudged its way to a 14-6 win against New Mexico; the defense was again dominant, but the offense looked disjointed an ineffective—raising red flags for the Sooners as they head into SEC play. It all led to some movement in the Week 4 edition of the 247Sports SEC poll. Texas and Georgia again checked in at Nos. 1 and 2 while effectively splitting first-place votes (eight for the Longhorns, seven for the Bulldogs). Ole Miss moved into the No. 3 slot after its win against LSU, which dropped the Tigers to No. 5. Meanwhile, Alabama moved up to No. 4 after a win against FSU. ***CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE TO SOONERS ILLUSTRATED AND GET YOUR ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION FOR 50% OFF*** Florida and Kentucky were the big movers, each climbing three spots (to seventh and 12th) after road wins against Auburn and Texas A&M, respectively. The Aggies saw the biggest week-to-week drop, falling three spots to No. 8. Three teams fell two spots each: LSU, Oklahoma (ninth to 11th) and South Carolina (13th to 15th). Each week throughout the season, reporters from the SEC's network of 247Sports sites will rank the league's teams, 1 through 16, as the teams vie for their spot in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta in December — and, of course, a chance at a bid in the 12-team College Football Playoff Field. Here's how the complete 247Sports SEC poll looks like after Week 3 of the season, with first-place votes in parentheses and a team's week-to-week movement indicated by a +/-:
