Note: A grade of 85 or higher is an NFL-caliber rating, while a grade between 84-79 is considered "very good." Anything from 78-68 is considered "above average." 60 is considered "average" as that is where each player's grade begins and then goes up or down from there. Below average grades range from 50-59, and anything below 50 is considered "poor." FINAL: UCLA 52, PURDUE 38 Purdue defensive grades and snap counts...  Quick notes on the defense... - I would have expected these numbers to be worse, but having seven players grade "above average" is surprising. In 20 snaps, defensive tackle Wisdom Simms was the highest-graded player at 75. Among the starters, John Slaughter was the highest-graded with a 74. He finished with a team-high 11 tackles.  - Keyshawn Burgos was the highest-graded edge rusher with a 71.3 grade. He logged two tackles with a quarterback hurry and a pass breakup. Breeon Ishmail (71.0) and Jeremy Lewis (68.6) were the other higher-graded edge rushers.  - Missed tackles were an issue for Purdue on Saturday - Trey Smith (25.0), Jojo Hayden (25.4), Hudauri Hines (27.3), Anthony Speca (31.7), Jeremy Lewis (37.8), and Smiley Bradford (38.6) were among the worst-graded tacklers for the Boilers.  - Traveon Wright was the lowest-graded Purdue player at 27.1 while logging just three snaps, filling in for Don Saunders who temporarily left with an injury. It did not go well for Wright, who got a pass interference penalty on his first play, then was picked on for a 22-yard completion on his second play. Dee Newsome ended up replacing Wright until Saunders returned.
