IMHO Sunday: And then came Jolly JRob
Summary
JR elite recruiter with absurd rosters including HOF/All-Pro talent, but QB inconsistency and tight games suggest limited A-game coaching.
JR is an all-timer, but as I've thought about Robinson over the years, I've realized he was foremost and incredible recruiter. Those rosters during JRob1 were absurd. Not just the HOF and All-Pro talent, but the depth. And yet USC played in plenty of tight games. QB was the one position that for the most part wasn't elite during his time, which may have something to do with it. Not sure if he was an A game coach. For those too young to know these rosters, you can't imagine.
