The third week of SEC football in 2026 saw one of the most anticipated games of the season live up to hype, two first-year coaches square off on The Plains, a stunning road upset, a one-in-a-million finish in Nashville and another stellar Kamario Taylor performance. Ole Miss ousted LSU in the return of Lane Kiffin to Oxford, Kentucky notched a top-10 road win under its new head coach, Florida won a throwback battle against Auburn and Taylor left Shane Beamer and South Carolina frustrated as Mississippi State continued its hot start. Those results led to movement throughout the third 247Sports SEC poll of the season. Our voting panel consists of team writers – including yours truly – from SEC sites across the network. Each week we’ll rank the league from first to 16th. I’ll post the poll after it is released (usually on Mondays) and share my ballot of how I voted (and my explanations why). I ordered the bottom of my rankings by asking a simple question: Have you beaten a Power 4 team in the first three weeks of the season? At the top, it’s a balance of how you’ve looked and who you’ve beaten. My rankings saw movement for 14 of the league’s 16 teams. Here is my 247Sports SEC poll ballot after Week 3 (the number in parentheses indicates the ranking change from my Week 2 ballot):
