On Monday before Texas, Josh Heupel said he thought Tennessee running back DeSean Bishop was feeling pretty good, while noting he had not yet spoken with him. He said the staff would make sure Bishop was ready Saturday. This was an optimistic update after an apparent hip injury, not confirmed medical clearance.

Through Tennessee's first three 2026 games, Bishop has 286 rushing yards, a 95.3-yard per-game average and four rushing touchdowns. The report attributes 175 yards after contact to Pro Football Focus; these are written season-to-date figures, not a projection of his workload against Texas.
