Northern Colorado had won two D2 national championships. They had some people who thought that was the school and not the coach driving that. When Joe Glenn moved on they lost what was driving their success although they did have some continued success under Kay Dalton. They have generally averaged about 5,000-6,000 fans in home attendance and don't have any significant local corporate sponsors. Again their support says D2 but that doesn't fit the intentions of the school administration so they will continue to struggle at FCS. Boise was a unique case because while Boise Idaho isn't a hotbed of college football interest they had the headquarters there for Albertson's and even more significantly Boise was the home of MPC which at the time was a huge player in the PC computer market. Each put a lot of money into the program. Their stadium is Albertson's Stadium.
