I’m still holding hard to the opinion that Beck is super-overrated and that the difference between 2024 and 2025 was 85+% Dampier over Wilson. I’d wager the single biggest swing in QB performance in the last 50 years of Utah football. (Had to include the game where the punter surpassed Wilson’s 2025 productivity in one play). The offensive line was the reason that 2025 Utah was good despite being completely one-dimensional. The one-dimensionality was a product of Beck’s simple routes, lack of WR talent, and Dampier being a limited passer. I think 2/3 of those issues will be corrected by week one and hopefully Dampier makes some progress as a passing QB. I think the offense will have fewer dominating performances but also fewer instances of grinding to a halt in n 2026. I think the offense will keep Utah in the game in every contest and am more worried about the Defense (especially the line).
