Would this team beat the ‘25 or the ‘24 team?
Summary
Pick/market: At this point in time 26 beats both 24 and 25 by double digits.
At this point in time 26 beats both 24 and 25 by double digits. Anyone who says otherwise is taking the finished products for both those two teams and comparing it to this team just starting out.
24 at this point in time Riley Leonard literally couldn’t complete a forward pass. We had 123 rushing yards total on Northern Illinois with 34 of it including Love jumping over a guy mid stride and continuing for a TD.
25 at this point in time had the worst OL performance ever seen against Miami and gave up 41 to Marcel Reed who can’t complete a pass this year and 30 points to Purdue.
26 our biggest complaint is we don’t have a third WR emerging yet and the running offense is under performing by lacking explosive over 20 yard runs.
People just have expectations for this team to start out looking like 2019 LSU or 2020 Bama, and neither of those teams were what they were until later in the seasons.
