The football program generates around 80% of the athletic departments $200+ million in revenue so about 10% of football revenue is going directly to the players as payment. Rough estimate is all of the other football player benefits are $200k per player per year X 100 players = $20 million. Football players are getting around 20% of revenue they are generating. Under the legislation I believe that will increase to 30%. There is no significant effort by football players to get collective bargaining or lawsuits for more money. When compared to pro sports CBA's the players are being reasonable. In contrast, the NCAA, conference and university administrators are not in attempting to deny eligibility in every situation, and not including player input when making silly rules based on 1990's financial conditions in college football. Why not terminate the idiots making the rules currently and have representatives of players and coaches, and others who are living in the current reality end this ridiculousness. BTW, I am done with Herbstreit and Finebaum. When a couple of the most influential talking heads loudly argue for young people to not be able to play college football they have lost perspective on who makes the game so special.
