My last comment about attendance right now in this thread, because this has been a thread hijack. But, it occurs to me that the pro leagues have known for a long time that star players drive attendance. One thing Wisconsin football had going for it for a long time was having a star running back. A lot more fun to watch Ron Dayne or MG3 or JT play against Eastern Michigan than a collection of guys most fans barely know. Since Fickell took over, that's gone bye bye. Of course, this isn't just a Wisconsin issue. The transfer portal has made it more difficult for almost every team to keep their star players. But, the lack of star RBs the last couple years at Wisconsin, after an almost 30 year string of them, has been somewhat of a self-inflicted wound.
