One of the many ways this program fails is by having to desperately insert guys, who aren’t ready, into the lineup. Williams was a reclass guy who should have never seen the field in 2024, he should have been doing nothing but working on fundamentals, lifting weights and hitting the training table. But because we were/are so bereft of talent we have to put these guys in who have no business playing and their development is stunted as a result. This is also the case with every QB who’s been a bust, maybe they all would have been, but I have a feeling Brock and Luke’s careers may have gone differently if they had been allowed to sit for 2 years instead of thrown into disastrous situations. It’s also a product of this broken joke of a sport I follow less closely each year that passes. Part of the fun of college football was seeing guys develop from freshman with potential into all conference players over the course of their careers, there are about 4 programs in the country these days that still have that.
