We went from underdog to favorite because people who bet big $$$ watch the games and look at the rosters. I think it's a bit of a coin flip game but it makes sense to me we're favored, despite the less than stellar first two games. Teams can evolve and improve and play to their potential with the snap of a finger. While it was only Portland State and we can't read too much into it, it went about as well as one could have hoped. This reminds me of a sorta analogy - let's rewind to the 2009 season under Chip. We began that year with a terrible loss to Boise State that included Blount KO'ing a guy in the postgame. Next week we barely snuck by Purdue at home, 38-36. I remember that game specifically as I was there as part of my bachelor party. We easily could have lost the one. Nice win versus Utah the following week but it was in doubt the entire way. We're 2-1 without a ton of hope for the season. However....our 4th game of the year was a 42-3 demolition of #6 ranked Cal. Masoli erupted, the D played great and it is a win I also remember to this day. So much so I somehow found Chip's email address, email'd him my congratulations on the performance, and he responded to me which was cool. Ok, that team finished 9-3 and we all hope for 11-1 or 10-2, but you get my point (I hope).
