Melvin Jordan - "He's been a different version of himself since he returned." Jordan had entered the portal and then decided to stay. Not all reasons for going in the portal are bad. "There's opportunity and there's only so many spots to play." He has become a valuable backup player getting a lot of valuable reps. "I'm glad he came back. He's been a great version of himself and that shows when he has an opportunity to go out there." Explosive plays by the receivers - "We got more guys involved and that was a big thing last week." Key pointed out that you can't play the whole game as a receiver. He sees other receivers that are available. Like they are doing on defense, they are playing guys to develop guys. Debron Gatling and Jaiven Plummer are two of those receivers that are starting to come on. He is also looking for Isaiah Fuhrmann to join that group. "Getting other guys involved is big and really important for our success."    At tight end Key is looking to get Chris Corbo more involved. The receivers are learning and the young quarterback is no longer a young quarterback. He's becoming an experienced quarterback and Key expects him to get better every week. "This is an offense that I fully expect, and feel will improve every week of the season." They still need to find out what their identity is. "Every day is a grind, and it started with getting some more guys in there playing some more with an opportunity to touch the ball more." Takeaways from previous years opening road trips - The team is going out early and will be there 48 hours before the kickoff. "No different than we played two weeks ago. "Dublin Ireland is like another world. We're in the United States. Key doesn't get the worries about traveling to the west coast. "We're playing a conference game. It's the Atlantic Coast Conference. What's the big deal?" The quote was tongue in cheek. The main thing he wanted to get across was that this is a new team and previous trips don't matter save for the two guys that are taking care of all the logistics. They plan these trips months in advance. Thompson and Blake do a great job of putting these trips together. They're drawing experiences from previous trips. Progress in making special team's corrections - "When things get blown up, you build it back up. It takes a little bit at a time to build it back." They will continue to clean things up in practice. "The ball has to be snapped. We can't throw knuckle balls back. We can't spin it like a helicopter. We can't roll it back." The protection isn't going to work if any of those things happen. They have been inconsistent with the snaps. "It's all about timing. We have to get the operation right."
