Rutgers Football requires a General Manager
Summary
Pick/market: The point being that in no world should we have needed Pribula to beat UMass and BC.
RutgersAl said... (original post) If we spent $2M on Beau Pribula, we’d be 3-0. The QB position has been a net negative for us when it should have been a net positive. show more The point being that in no world should we have needed Pribula to beat UMass and BC. Schiano did the evals on our current transfers and they were terrible. Other P4 schools have transfers from lower levels that hit and none of ours have over the last few years. Schiano made the choice at the end of the day to not devote a higher percentage of our NIL bucket on a QB and it failed. Schiano opted to have co-assistant GMs instead of a single GM and it failed. Schiano decided to pay our co-assistant GMs more money combined than a single GM and it failed (we are paying them over 600k combined! That’s more than or on par with what mid-upper level B1G and SEC schools are paying their GMs) All roads lead back to the CEO. You can continue to point to NIL being a problem (which is true. I’m sure he’d love to have more), but Schiano made all of the decisions about where to spend that money and who to hire as the support staff to help him manage the money and personnel. He can’t just keep making the wrong decisions and then blame something else when it goes wrong.
