No one becomes effective by trying to make sure they never “lose” at anything in life. One of Blake’s biggest strengths when he took over for the Kite Flyer was his willingness to roll the dice and go for it, even when the analytics said otherwise. Cut the cord. Go for the jugular. Make them guess. Take a chance. All gas, no brakes. That mentality is what earned Blake the respect of Pirate Nation. Three games in, I’m not seeing much of that from our new OC. When defenses zero out or sit in Cover 1, and we don’t consistently strain the coverage shell vertically, that’s a fundamental problem. You can’t play scared and expect to win consistently.
