JD has just made OCs in the conference rethink their Oline protections, which is a good thing for the Pirates. Lampley plays a disruptive style of defense and makes those around him better because he eats up space and can legitimately create pressure. Now the opposing OC has another question to answer, how many resources do we use to contain JD? Even if the answer is just the tackle ,you have now created issues along the point of attack because Lampley will win enough of his 1 v1 battles or simply hold the edge long enough , to force opposing OCs to be more accountable to the numbers game than before. Really happy for Lampley and its great to have a veteran Pirate back on the field! I admire his tenacity..
