After Rutgers' 58-7 win over Howard, Greg Schiano said the offense had 10 turnovers in its first three 2026 games but none against Howard, while Rutgers forced three. He tied the improvement to players and coaches staying focused on their individual jobs; he did not announce a new scheme for Indiana.

Schiano said quarterback Dylan Lonergan was decisive against Howard and did not force plays when reads were absent. He said forcing plays had been an issue for both Lonergan and A.J. earlier. This is his postgame evaluation, not a confirmed starter decision for Indiana.

Rutgers kicker Dane Pizaro made three field goals against Howard. Schiano praised his quick-rising kick trajectory, long-range leg and consistent operation, saying a fast-rising ball helps limit blocks; he made no guarantee about future attempts.
