Projecting the 2026 Illini football depth chart: Post-spring ball edition
Summary
Illinois strengths: talented experienced secondary, strong LB group, quality QB/RB/WR; DL concern; OL talented but inexperienced.
Obviously the DL is a concern. But we shouldn't lose sight of the strenghts:
Talented, experienced a deep secondary.
Probably the strongest LB group in Bielema's tenure.
Quality, experienced QB, RB and WR.
The OL is talented and deep, but not terribly experienced. Really curious to see if Feagin can be a difference maker at TE, even in possibly targeted role.
Most teams outside of the bluebloods have strengths and weaknesses. I'd like to think we have enough to stay in the second tier of B1G programs.
