Virginia Tech Shakes Up Offensive Line Ahead of Boston College Matchup
Summary
Injury: Virginia Tech has made the trip up to Boston College for a noon matchup.
Virginia Tech has made the trip up to Boston College for a noon matchup. With high winds and possible rain in the forecast, it is setting up to be a chaotic day. The weather is not the only drama in store for the Hokies though as the offensive line has had to shift personnel around due to recent injuries. As previously reported, offensive linemen Justin Terry, who was injured in last week's game against Maryland, and Montavious Cunningham, injured in practice a couple days ago, are both out for today's contest. Instead, head coach James Franklin revealed on a pre-game radio broadcast that Layth Ghannam will slide out to the tackle position in place of Justin Terry. Michael Troutman earns his first career start at one guard slot while Brody Meadows takes the other. Kyle Altuner at center and Aidan Lynch at right tackle remain in their usual starting positions. Troutman is a 6-foot-2, 312-pound sophomore from New Jersey. He originally enrolled at Penn State in 2025, but he transferred to Virginia Tech when James Franklin was hired. He has not seen any collegiate playing time before today's start.
