Florida was sound in all three facets of Saturday's 52-28 victory over Ole Miss, which marked UF's highest-ranked win in 11 years, since defeating a then-No. 3 ranked Ole Miss team at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in 2015. The Gators continued their impressive start offensively as Sumrall's team reached 214 points on the season, the most points scored by any UF head coach through his first four games in Gainesville, and Sumrall became the first coach in SEC history to score 200-plus points in his first four games. Florida's defense won the turnover battle, and Sumrall came away with the opinion the unit rattled Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss despite the passer's 25-of-34 performance for 298 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the game's closing minutes. As expected, Chambliss did damage with his legs, too, with a team-leading 44 rushing yards along with a pair of scores on the ground. And, Florida saw multiple career-best performances on special teams from the specialists and in the return game. Though, Sumrall stressed repeatedly in the aftermath of the contest that the Gators must continue to improve ahead of facing a Missouri team on the road, one tasked with avenging Saturday's loss to one of the league's more-surprising teams thus far, Mississippi State. "Just grateful for the win, excited about the direction we're headed. We have not arrived. We have so much room to grow and get better," Sumrall said. "And we still have to do that or we're not going to be pleased with outcomes that we have coming up." Following Florida's victory, social media reacted to the Gators' 24-point defeat of the Rebels:
