Has the admin made a comedy of errors here, yes. Will they make the correct choice, probably not. That being said, imagine the money gap that ensues if you don’t. You arguably can’t not fire the DC even if you were to keep Mike, what DC would you get to come here and take the reigns knowing we’re just waiting for the buyout to get low enough. so you take Mike and a new bottom of the barrel, no business calling a defense DC and you then top that with what will surely end up being the number 50+ recruing class not to mention that the tap will be bone dry for your portal class given the pretty public numbers you completely threw up a hogs rear end by doing things like paying #5 800ish k. So not only would you be punting on two seasons, you also leave the pantry bare. Zero talent to compete for anything of merit for probably 2-3 seasons after that. If you don’t make this move now, enjoy the move to obscurity.
