Just basing things off the few times he DID leave the pocket by stepping up into it (vs. running sideways because he's afraid of contact), he was ROUTINELY ignoring 10 yard gains up the middle. But as a coaching staff, we LET them play contain with their DL by letting it be okay that Avery sits in the pocket. Until they demand he makes defenses pay for that, we're going to see more of what we saw tonight. Tonight Avery looked a lot like the QB I saw last year that everyone said Matt Wells was fully responsible for......fraid' not.
