Cory's Own Words sums up DD's Coaching tenure at NC State: "App State got off an onside kick NC State wasn't prepared for and recovered it after out-manning the Wolfpack at the point of contact. Not only was the kick recovered, but State's defense left a running back wide open for an 18-yard gain and looked completely lost in coverage three plays later, allowing for a wide-open tight end pass in the end zone to tie it up at 31 all." Couple that with his sarcastic quip at the end of his press conference, then there you have it, Dave in a nut shell - an unprepared coach who just so happens to be uncaring for the thousands of Wolfpack Fans who pay his salary, and most of the expense of all the other sports NC State fields. He continues to show how little he cares - over and over again. That callous attitude is a major contributor to the fact he needs to look elseware - the sooner the better for all.
