EAST LANSING, Mich. — It's still just September, but never too early to make another quarterback see ghosts.
We'll get to that part in due time.
First a couple base numbers that separate happiness from sadness on a college football Saturday.
Nebraska won the sack count 6-0 and the turnover battle 3-0. They held Michigan State to 39 rushing yards. Do that and you win Big Ten games, as the Huskers did Saturday, 31-13.
When the game begged for drama late in the third quarter, the Huskers produced another sack and got a hand on a kick themselves. Then the run game supplied the finishing move that put Michigan State away.
And, just as everyone predicted, there were two Vincent Genatone touchdowns, too. Yeah, that was fun for all. The most fun Nebraska football has had in East Lansing since 2012.
Some Fast Takes.
