I won't lose my composure over a football game I have no control over. show more Kevin, you have a great way of putting things into perspective. That game had me more excited than any game we’ve played in the last few years. It brought back memories of when we were the underdog, fighting to overcome the odds. Had we won, the momentum heading into conference play could have been tremendous. I hate losing as much as anyone, but football is still just a game. There was a time when I loved going to work Monday morning and talking football because we were winning and competing. I’d love to see those days return. It’s fine to question decisions and be disappointed, but constantly spewing negativity after a loss says more about the person than the game. Even programs with tremendous money, resources and coaching lose games. That’s football. What matters is keeping it in perspective. At the end of all this, I know I’m on a winning team. The outcome has already been decided. My road will have ups and downs, just like a sporting event, but I already know how my race will finish. So I’ll enjoy the wins, endure the losses, and keep the game where it belongs—in perspective. I just want to run my race well, knowing how it ends.
