Poorly Coached Team
Summary
OL/KICKER: Joey - his natural optimism has turned into over confidence and a blind spot.
Joey - his natural optimism has turned into over confidence and a blind spot. Drank his own bath water. Too much off field distractions and failure to see the team for what it is.. he is failing to improve the things he needed to improve (offensive consistency, mental errors, team preparation) from last season. Conversely, he has overlooked and let regress all 3 aspects of the game. Mack has backslide.. of course one would expect a drop off without a 5th year Morton. Of course Hammond is both still inexperienced and recovering physical and mental confidence… the level of competition should have been driven off the ball by a better OL and three RBs should have run like banshees. It’s been a manic circus instead and now with game 4 over, no identity on the O.. no strong spot identified. Further, we are training wheels for Hammond and Castellanos while Francis and Chub have zero reps.. another massive by product F up that was critical for these games. Special teams has gone from a highly solid to elite unit to an undisciplined shell of itself. And finally the D. Shiel is doing well with what he has and has too much to replace… I’m of the opinion the biggest loss was JRod from a leadership standard. Secondary is in deep crap very soon.
