These takes are short sided to me. First time head coach. QB new to this level of competition (who has been showing improvement). And a tough schedule to start out with all the change that has happened. Not only did the Cougs play 3 P4 teams but 3 teams with the rarity of having a QB who has been with the program for multiple years. I wasn’t happy when it looked like the Cougs were done after they went down 7 in the 4th, but other than that at least we have seen improvement. Mike Leach’s first team went 3-9. Improvements week over week are importantly with a new coach and program direction.
