There is definite progress. The first drive was 10 plays for over 70 yards. A far cry from the first drives of every other game. More completions over the middle. More receivers getting involved. Compared with the first game vs uw you (well, I) can see the beginning of what at least is being game-planned. This game could have turned on an extra yard from Pinnick on 3rd and 4 in the 3rd qtr, or a more accurate pass to Peterson in the flat on 3rd and long, also in the same qtr. Billy Newman, I thought, brought good perspective on the post game: a rookie coach learning on the job, with a new QB making the jump to FBS, with 50 new players and only one returning receiver with any experience. The job is to build a PROGRAM and not so much about winning 7 or 8 games THIS year. And a caller made a good point about the sophomore struggles of Bledsoe, Rosenbach, Leaf. I see small steps forward. Pinnick just taking care of the ball and getting the RBs more involved with the passing game. That's all I have to say about that
