I agree with the gist of this and it's well written. . . But it's not implausible to me that the analytics say that USC's offense has a better % chance of converting 4th and 7 than the USC defense has of stopping a 70 yd Oregon TD drive. It's also not implausible to me that the analytics say that USC is more likely to win when it scores the first score of the game and that that is more likely to happen when it receives the opening kickoff.
