PHOTOS: Georgia football handles Oklahoma in home victory
Summary
Coaching: The Georgia Bulldogs made Oklahoma pay for mistakes again and again.
The Georgia Bulldogs made Oklahoma pay for mistakes again and again. Chris Cole recovered 2 Mateer fumbles — one of which he returned for a touchdown — to set the stage for a 41-13 victory for No. 2 Georgia. It was a dominant afternoon for the Bulldogs, which forced four turnovers in total and held the Sooners scoreless until there was 10:26 to go in the third quarter. The game swung on the first time Cole got his hands on the football. Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer's fumble on third-and-goal was recovered by Cole and returned 85 yards for a touchdown. What had the potential of becoming a 14-7 game with a Sooners touchdown turned into a 21-0 runaway train for the Bulldogs. "Once you get in the flow of the game and you get a 14-point play, that doesn't happen in football much. They're going in, and we score," Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said. "It's really hard to overcome that, and it's hard for them, too. I don't know how much adversity we had to face after that, but I do know that our team is getting better." The Bulldogs handled their business in a Week 4 win. Let's check out the photos from Saturday's victory:
