Beck’s offensive game plan against Phil was brilliant and simple and my biggest concern from the game. They would heavy up on first down and force Iowa into its 4-3 personnel, run for three yards, then immediately go hurry-up and spread the same personnel out. We couldn’t sub in Wally and suddenly MU had Buchanan and Marsh attacking favorable matchups with Van Kekerix in coverage. They gave Underwhelming one or two simple reads and created several of their explosives on second down. They did it all game. I’ll be interested to see Phil’s adjustment because tOSU will absolutely see that on film.
