Overton Jr. was the lone Virginia Tech player named to the National PFF Team of the Week, but two other Hokies earned recognition on the PFF ACC Team of the Week for their performances against Boston College.
Safety Quentin Reddish and cornerback Jaquez White joined Overton Jr. on the conference team after turning in strong performances in Virginia Tech's 21-14 victory.
Reddish did not record a tackle, but he made his presence felt in coverage. The Boston College offense targeted him five times, resulting in just one reception for six yards. Reddish was credited with three passes defensed and posted an elite 89.0 overall PFF grade, including an 89.2 coverage grade — the highest defensive grade among the Hokies.
White finished with five total tackles, including four stops, while also forcing a fumble. He allowed three receptions on four targets for 36 yards and added a pass defensed. White earned an 81.4 overall defensive grade from PFF, with an 81.5 tackling grade and an 82.2 coverage grade. His performance ranked second among all Virginia Tech defenders against Boston College, according to PFF.
