Sunday morning perspective
Summary
Pick/market: I hate these types of Sunday morning posts and I usually hate "moral victories" but I'm going to post this anyway.

We all (hopefully) read Glyn's reports for this season. It was dismal. 3 weeks to find 70 new players and convince them to come to USM after all other teams had their picks, complete lack of depth and talent, glaring weaknesses at almost every position, they all had to learn a new system, etc. Every single sign pointed to this being a very bad rebuilding season. I commented everywhere that this is a 3 win season and practically begged sunshine pumpers who were talking 7-9 wins and a bowl game to please temper expectations or the meltdowns after each loss were going to be nuclear.
Auburn, UCONN, and yes, even Tulane despite having a terrible head coach out-talent our guys to the point that all three of those teams could have just lined up in the I formation, ran up the gut every play, substituted fresh legs, and won when our Defense got tired. Hypothetical exercise here. Swap the coaches last night. Will Hall coaching this USM team vs Blake Anderson coaching that Tulane team. I think it would be 60 - 7 Tulane.
USM showed me something positive last night. They didn't quit, the defense played lights out for most of the night, the fans showed up and were loud despite atrocious recent football history, we've got some gems in Robinson, Dalton, and Sanders, and (controversial statement here), we've got a good coach. Sort out the kicking issues, play like last night, and USM might even pick up a couple of conference wins and upset someone this year. Will this be a bowl year? Lol don't bet on it. Do I see things USM can build on to significantly improve over the next couple of years? Absolutely.
Also if any of your Tulane buddies want to rip on you for last night's results, remind them that they still have Will Hall.
