Temple line drops a full two points since this morning
Summary
Pick/market: Unless someone catches lightening in a bottle the American will not send a team to the CFP.
Unless someone catches lightening in a bottle the American will not send a team to the CFP. USF has the record and a favorable schedule but right now they are not as good as Boise St or JMU. One third of the season is gone. Temple has started the season 1-3 three times in the last ten years, '26, '24, and '20. The Owls have played above .500 only once in the last ten years, they started 3-1 in 2019. Yes, the roster has more individual talent and depth. The record doesn't correlate. You are what your record says you are. This is the weakest the American has been in the last several years. But this Temple team will not beat anyone in the American just by taking the field. Every game will be hard. The small things will add up, every bad call will hurt. The coaches should now know what they have and what they don't. Get the ball to Brown, Mason, Clarke, and Bermudez on offense. Run Sheppard more. It's a crime if those five don't account for 75%, or more, of your offense going forward. Start scheming on defense to generate sacks and TFLs. The secondary can't cover for long, they need help. Temple only has 3 sacks in four games, that must improve. Rotating a million men on the DL sounds good but does stop the run or generate TFLs. Penetration, get off the ball and get upfield. Those are just some of the things Temple did when the Owls were good. They have the talent to do it again.
