Potential weather next week
Summary
QB: I don't think torrential rain or a sloppy field ever favors one team over another unless one QB has considerably smaller hands.
I don't think torrential rain or a sloppy field ever favors one team over another unless one QB has considerably smaller hands. Blake Sims struggled mightily in the rain. What it does do is introduce a random chaos variable that otherwise would not exist. For that reason, weather generally favors the underdog because it can act as more of an equalizer. It's important that the small details are ironed out. We've generally played poorly under Deboer in the rain. We shouldn't be hearing that the players switched to longer cleats at the half because they were sliding around in the first half. Stuff like that needs to be prepared for now
Grubb needs to have a game plan with the weather in mind. What you saw against South Carolina was the epitome of what Ryan Grubb wants to do every week, but that's harder to do in a downpour.
The positive aspect, if there is one, is that it should serve to dampen then crowd. Pun intended
All models seem pretty set at the moment on a rainy weekend in Starkville.
