Today's Dillingham comments on ASU's offense
Summary
QB/OL: KB is not consistently breaking tackles or eluding them in the first place as this offensive line requires.

He... show more KB is not consistently breaking tackles or eluding them in the first place as this offensive line requires. It’s what Eno had to do in light of his OL. Eno had some ridiculous stat line about the % of first contact occurring behind the LOS and yet he succeeded. Leaving yards on the field as opposed to another RB on the roster is exactly what the problem is with leaning into KB as the Bell Cow. He has a place in this offense however has not justified a disparate proportion of carries. Those extra couple yards could keep ASU ahead of the chains and keep Boley from needing the lengthy protection necessary for routes to develop. Boley could help here too. CKD‘s offense needs Boley to have about a 33 yard net rushing average to fit CKD’s QB needs in his historical scheme. The last two games, he’s averaged 28... so he’s demonstratively more a CKD scheme QB than he was at UK. Given what Champ’s Dad was reported to have commented on the PHNX Sun Devils podcast the week after the Tamu game, there seems to be some thought that Boley could be more aware in the pocket.
