The other things not often mentioned are the Rice skill players, specificially the QB and WR/Pitch Back. That QB was flat dangerous in space. Rice’s WR, who was most often the pitch man, had legit sprinter speed. Once our guys figured out the read discipline needed to defend the option they had much more success. In the second half our OL, and OL coach, made better scheme adjustments and eventually wore down the Owls.
