Summary
TE/DB: Alessio seems to have no idea where to go with the ball unless it's a very designed play pre-snap.
Alessio seems to have no idea where to go with the ball unless it's a very designed play pre-snap. The CB is playing outside leverage here and the S makes the wrong read. Moore is wide open for a TD. Another problem with our insanely low yards per completion. A couple of layered routes after the other receivers clear out the area. McCray is wide open for a 15 yard completion and Alessio takes the covered 1 yard pass. It's been a problem the entire season, not reading it high to low. There are quite a few times where we're fooling nobody though and everything is legit covered. I think that's playing some games with Alessio's head a little as well. Just before this, they are showing all-out blitz. He has to know if he takes a step and they're bringing it instead of bluffing, the ball is immediately out to his relief valve TE in the flat IMMEDIATELY, no thinking involved. Stuff like this shows you just how far behind he is mentally right now, it should be automatic. The negative/neutral plays are a killer whether it's a sack, taking a 1 yard completion when he has a 15 yard one open, a TFL or 2 yard run, etc. We're making it easy on defense to defend on 3rd and long.
