Ten Thoughts for Monday Morning: September 28
Summary
QB/OL: Instant replay is used so much in game, it didn't make any sense to not review that play.
Instant replay is used so much in game, it didn't make any sense to not review that play. I get that Miss St was going fast and it initially looked like he got the yardage, but it was such a critical play and close enough to review that it should have been stopped to take a look. I get that Mizzou still had other opportunities to try I think part of the frustration comes from last year, where the team couldn't get over the hump in a few of the ranked games they were in, and Drink uncertainty during the coaching carousel. Drink off the field has his soundbites, many taken out of context, but when you don't win its ammo for everyone to point to his record and why is he running his mouth. Drink's on field identity hasn't changed, but the roster has, and this year's roster is not nearly as good on defense to play to that identity. I don't see the NFL dudes like in year's past all over the field and the depth is not there (think of a bunch of the starters that were depth guys last year). It doesn't look or feel the same. Yes there are pieces and some have shown out, but its not the same death row. Offensively, I think its still the same play to not lose. Its the approach of last year with a back up QB, if they are off schedule at all, punt team get ready. The running game is not on the same level, as its OL play and RB situation not the same. Saturday will tell a lot about what this team is made of. Do the wheels come off with a top 10 team coming in, or do the buck up and bounce back to give themselves an opportunity.
