SMU football head coach Rhett Lashlee made it clear after the Mustangs' win over Missouri State that he was none too pleased to see with late hits by the Bears Saturday night. In his post-game press conference, Missouri State head coach Casey Woods — one of Lashlee's closest friends and the Mustangs offensive coordinator for the last four seasons — responded: "I do want to say: the late-hit penalties are not the kind of football team we're going to have. I'm going to get that crap cleaned up, and we're going to do it soon. I apologized to Rhett after the game. We're not going to run around and ... bush league ... hit people in the back late and do all that stuff. That's undisciplined and fake tough-guy stuff. We're going to be real tough guys. We do have a physical football team, we've got a tough football team, and I think that we're better than that, and that's not going to be reflective of who we are."
