John Mateer's confidence 'bruised,' as OU enters bye week with decision to make at QB
Summary
QB: To me it is horrendous coaching (at the OU level) to go into the season without 2 viable choices to play your Qb position.
To me it is horrendous coaching (at the OU level) to go into the season without 2 viable choices to play your Qb position. It makes NO sense (IMHO) to not have a Qb that is ready, willing and able to step into a game situation and play with some competency if the first Qb stinks up the field or gets hurt. If you don’t believe in your Qbs then why do you have them-especially after 1 1/2 years on campus. This situation in the SEC is that, because of the toughness of the schedule you had BETTER have a competitive environment at your Qb position. There has been a complete breakdown of the offensive side of the ball for OU. On all levels.
