Funny you mention the band thing because you could literally pick that up on TV. I'm not some old school curmudgeon, but the band owned the in-game production when I was an undergrad in the 90s and everyone took their queue from them - that's not to say music is bad - but the noise makers and piped in sound is absolutely atrocious. More thoughts just in terms of mixign it up but they absolutely have to ditch Phil Collins and Kernkraft. EVERYONE DOES KERNKFRAFT and we weren't the first. Get over it people. It sucks right now and it's sucked for 15 years. You also can't keep playing that stupid In the Air Tonight and go out and lose the way we do with the lights on at Beaver Stadium - puts half the crowd to sleep in the process. That song worked one time - Nebraska '02 and they played it during team stretches in warm-ups... very well placed then - completely stupid to amp up a crowd while the team is coming out of the tunnell and worse - did I actually hear them playing it in the middle of the game?!?! On kickoff - what they heck was wrong with people just screaming - no, we have some Gen Z banging sirens and blaring the f'n Lion King. Mo Bamba - yeah, that's another one EVERYONE does. Maybe they picked it up from us, doesn't mean we have to keep it. Stale, stale, stale. I knew we were cooked last night when I saw the f'n Black and Pink S Zone. Talk about your fabricated and made up traditions. Not a single one of htose kids in those t shirts can tell you the real and thin history of PSU in those colors. I'd burn anythign with pink and black on it and Penn State branded.
